Practicing Boring Self-Care

Practicing Boring Self-Care

Setting aside time for yourself can make a huge difference to your overall wellbeing.  Practicing self-care can help reduce your stress and anxiety levels.  You can enhance your immune system and increase your energy levels.

Various articles describe self-care as beach holidays in the sun, spa weekends away or weekly massages.  But what happens if your work or family commitments prevent you from getting away?  Don’t feel that a self-care routine could not work for you.  Instead, try practicing self-care with daily tasks.

When you are stressed and overwhelmed, these small acts can feel like big achievements:

  1. Brush your teeth.

  2. Go to the GP/ Doctor.

  3. Leave your home or go outside.

  4. Make your bed.

  5. Pay your bills.

  6. Put away your laundry.

  7. Take a shower or bath.

  8. Tidy up your home.

  9. Walk around the block.

  10. Wash the dishes.

  11. Wash a load of laundry.

Hopefully, you will experience contentment by doing these run of the mill tasks as part of your daily self-care routine.
